Bill and Ted’s Excellent Sequel: Wyld Stallyns Ride Again!

It seems that all those persistent rumors of a sequel to 1989’s Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and 1991’s Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey are finally starting to condense into actual, glorious, non-bogus fact. Vulture is reporting that Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are officially on board their time travelling phone booth to star in a third film, scripted by the original creators.

The movie, which will be helmed by Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot, will pick up with the characters in the present, two decades after their last epic outing (in which, you may recall, they escaped from Hell, befriended the Grim Reaper, and won the Fourth Annual San Dimas Battle of the Bands). Since then, we’ve lost both the great George Carlin (who played Rufus, their guide from the future) as well as Clarence Clemons (one of The Three Most Important People in the World, according to the first movie), but Stubby’s willing to bet that the new movie will do them proud, and can’t wait to catch up with everybody’s favorite dim-witted, time-travelling rock stars. In the meantime, be excellent to each other…and party on.

Surely Jim Martin is important enough to be in there, as “Sir James Martin, head of the Faith No More Spiritual and Theological Center”.

I do believe Keanu Reeves is a worse actor now than he was two decades ago. :p

Still, classic movie sequels are sometimes worth the fun. :)

Excellent, dude! This is the most non-non-non-heinous movie news I’ve had in a while!
